Having a review done by us or having an interview helps the traffic to the developers website, as was bought to our attention recently when we did an interview and reviewed a plugin for a developer who sent us snap shots of their traffic before and after the shows. The traffic stayed, so there are great benefits to being reviewed by WP Plugins A to Z. Submit Your Plugin Here.

There are time when you need to control or add specialized excerpts to your site. I recently had to help a client out with this. He was using a theme that when you did not have an excerpt for a post it used the first paragraph of a page and auto added the “Read more” text link but when you used an excerpt on the post it dropped the “Read More” link.
Weird behaviour but well instead of changing out the theme we opted for another solution. That was adding this plugin which auto adds the “Read More” link and does so much more. You can get a cleaner look on your blog page or front page by controlling the number of words or characters shown for an excerpt, add html markup to your excerpt, have it cut off at end of a sentence not in the middle.
All in all a pretty great plugin that just works.

next up I have:
I was originally going to use this plugin to add images to a menu, in particular it was to add social media icons to a menu. I found that it was having issues with the theme I was using so it did not work as well as I had hoped.
The plugin itself is great and for most standard themes it should do well. What it does is add a new section in your menus that allows you to upload images that are then display next to menu items or are only shown while the text is hidden.
It works pretty well for the most part and I do like the concept and can see a use for it in the future.

Since the release of Gutenberg, and its fallout, ClassicPress has garnered a lot of attention. This is a fork of WordPress and is focused on Business Websites and is looking pretty good. It does seem in the past few months ClassicPress is coming into its own a bit and with some plugins now being created specifically for ClassicPress I do believe it has a future.
One thing I am looking forward to in the ClassicPress World is the expansion of the number of ClassicPress specific plugins and their own repository. Currently there are not a lot of ClassicPress specific plugins but I do know it is going to grow and I’ll have to expand this segment then. Who knows, it could take over the whole show.
This week for ClassicPress I have: News
The ClassicPress Club
An alternate forum for the non-techies.
“Must Have” Plugins List
To find a listing of ClassicPress specific plugins check out this link https://forums.classicpress.net/t/plugins-built-specifically-for-classicpress/1011?u=codepotent there is currently 37 plugins here and growing. I look forward to the day they have their own repository. I can still recall WP when it had a small repository.
