Doing a weekly podcast can sometimes be a challenge to come up with content week after week, but lets get it started.
This week I am babbling about the hack that occurred on supply side for 31 plugins, one of which I was using. upon further investigation only one site had been infected but due to the way I do I my updates and backups. I had a version of the plugin pre the hack insertions and was able to revert and clean up the injected code,
Ramble about what I do during an update for me and my clients before doing updates.

Tip of The Day:
The tip today is to stop banging your head with Gutenberg Block Editor and do some research. I was banging my head trying to make a form look good for MailPoet using the block editor which is so limited unless I wanted to write the code which would take more time than I want. I discovered that the form block widget for Elementor has full integration with MailPoet and made the job so much easier.
Here is how it’s done:
Elementor Pro has a built-in Form widget that you can fully customize (layout, styling, fields, colors, etc.), and it has native integration with MailPoet.
Here’s how to do it:

Drag the Form widget from Elementor into your page or section.

Customize the form completely:

Add fields like Email, First Name, Last Name, Custom fields, etc.

Style everything (typography, colors, borders, spacing, button design, etc.) using Elementor’s style tabs.

Set up success message, redirect, etc.

In the Actions After Submit section (under the Content tab):

Click Add Action → Choose MailPoet 3 (or just “MailPoet”).

Configure the MailPoet action:

Select the MailPoet list you want subscribers added to.

Map the form fields to MailPoet fields (email, first name, last name, custom fields, etc.).

Publish and test the form.
This gives you a fully custom-designed form that adds subscribers straight to your MailPoet lists.

Pet Peeve This Week Or WP drama:
When doing plugin updates you should not be doing them in bulk. This is not really a pet peeve but some education from my 17 years of doing plugin updates for WordPress. I have attempted over the years to do them in bulk and that work great until it does not. My recommendation is do not do them in bulk as they often break that way and there is often an order on how you should do them.
