Having a review done by us or having an interview helps the traffic to the developers website, as was bought to our attention recently when we did an interview and reviewed a plugin for a developer who sent us snap shots of their traffic before and after the shows. The traffic stayed, so there are great benefits to being reviewed by WP Plugins A to Z. Submit Your Plugin Here.

Amber’s Rant
This is #44 of 53 52 episodes for 2020. Its Episode 485 and things on this show are moving and shaking into a whole new creature. We have reached week 45 of the year 2020, and we are now 34 weeks into the Rona. The end of the year is coming up, and before we know it Christmas and New Year’s will have leapt out in front of us like a deer running across the road for some fresh green grass.
The world is like a crazy Zipper Ride from the fair left now, and so it is the perfect time to make yourself a little place where you can TUNE OUT for a while! For me it’s my balcony with potted plants and a swinging bench, though it can be a blanket thrown over your couch to build a fort, in your bed with your door closed and a ‘Do Not Disturb’ sign or a sock on your door, or even your car! Get into that zone out space of yours, throw on some fun music, grab a book, or even throw on a book and grab a drink! Kick back, and breathe. Try to get there at least once a week, more if you can.
If you have kids, let them know that they should only bother you if they are broken, dying, or bleeding for 1 WHOLE hour. Make your area comfy for you, and try to remove all internet AND radio with news hours while zoning out. Try to let go of everything outside of your control, and work on pestering those you know and care about to get their own Zone Out Space’s started.
Rinse and repeat as often as needed.
We have some news from the world of WordPress for you today as well as some great plugins.
Let’s get to the fun we have today.

ClassicPress Options
ClassicPress is a fast growing fork of WordPress that is starting to come into its own. ClassicPress is focused on Business Websites, runs fast and is looking pretty good. There are a few plugins specifically for ClassicPress and all plugins for WordPress 4.9.9 work well on it. I do believe it has a future.
One thing I am looking forward to in the ClassicPress World is the expansion of the number of ClassicPress specific plugins and their own repository. Currently there are not a lot of ClassicPress specific plugins but I do know it is going to grow and I’ll have to expand this segment then. Who knows, it could take over the whole show.
This week for ClassicPress I have:

John’s plugin
Checkout Field Editor (Checkout Manager) for WooCommerce
https://wordpress.org/plugins/woo-checkout-field-editor-pro/
The Lowdown:
This is a great little plugin I recently used in an attempt to create some customization for the checkout process in WooCommerce. While it worked quite well it did not quite complete what I was looking to accomplish, but on the whole it is not a bad plugin and if you need to make some custom checkout fields or customize the other ones this may work for you.
They do have a premium version with more options.

Amber’s Plugin
Emergency Alerts
https://wordpress.org/plugins/emergency-alert/
Description
This plugin was designed with Rona in mind, though it moved in a direction that appears to actually be useful.
The idea of this plugin is to have the ability to place an important message directly onto your site. You can customize it to an extent, choose where to place it on your site and whether or not it will be fixed, add media or not…
I can see how this would be very useful in any event that could come up, such as Closed for Holidays, New Hours, just about anything.
It’s easy to install and to use. Very straight forward, and shows up nicely on the site. Also allows for removal of the notice with a little X, which some of these notices I have seen do not allow for this – which can be very frustrating for me.
Only draw back, is that as neat as the idea is, the creators openly admit that you will likely need to have some custom CSS added into this in order to make it look as good as you are wanting, and work to the fullest of your satisfaction. I very much like the idea of this plugin, and I think that it could go far if they keep working on it.
If you only want a simple notice that sits on your site with a small ability to personalize, this will be perfect for you. However, if you are looking for something a bit more interactive, and don’t feel like adding in the needed CSS, than this is not the plugin for you.

WooCommerce Product Feed Manager
Repo link: https://wordpress.org/plugins/best-woocommerce-feed/
Pro plugin page: https://rextheme.com/best-woocommerce-product-feed
Lowdown:
This plugin is used to generate product feed according to templates of different marketplaces such as Google Shopping, eBay, Facebook Ads, and tons of other online marketplaces. Its a useful tool for WooCommerce stores that wish to promote their products on multiple marketplaces, without wasting a lot of time in preparing product data.

Simple Custom Post Order
https://wordpress.org/plugins/simple-custom-post-order/
The Lowdown:
This is a simple plugin that allows you to reorder your posts without having to change the date and you can do it with a simple drag and drop. Nothing too special but it is useful

Amber’s plugin
Dark Mode for WP Dashboard
https://wordpress.org/plugins/dark-mode-for-wp-dashboard/
Description
This plugin is fairly self explanatory; you plug it in and activate it, and it turns your dartboard into night theme. No settings or anything, just an instantaneous flip. If you want to get rid of the dark theme, just deactivate the plugin.
I don’t know if anyone else who spends a lot of time on computers out there has this same issue – but I personally have trouble with migraines; I find that the white screens have a tendency to bring it on. My glasses have a permanent tint to them, as they are transitions, and that helps a bit.
But I find that sites that have the dark theme option are the best option for me. Though the dark theme hasn’t really been an option when I am working in the WordPress dashboard – until now.
I turned on this dark theme, and I felt immediately better! It’s not an actual black, just a dark charcoal. Interesting fact, if you have even mild dyslexia, white on black writing will be significantly easier for you to read. I’ve managed to help my daughter’s dyslexia with that trick.

Cart Lift
Repo Link: https://wordpress.org/plugins/cart-lift/
Pro plugin page: https://rextheme.com/cart-lift/
Lowdown:
Cart Lift is an abandoned cart recovery plugin for WooCommerce and Easy Digital Downloads. Basically, when a buyer adds products to the cart, but leaves the site without completing the purchase at any point, you can set automatic reminder emails at fixed intervals to be sent regarding the buyer’s incomplete purchase (abandoned cart). Questions and Answers –
CSS, besides being a form of HMTL, what is it? And how do you use it?
Can you only use CSS in programmes like WordPress, or is it a form of coding in general for computers as a whole?
On the show Mr. Robot, there is a scene where the hackers are watching some movie about hacking, and they talk about how unrealistic the movies are, how some writer out there is likely making a lot of money making a whole lot of random things up for the next hacker movie. So I’m wondering, do you know whether or not on shows like Mr. Robot, or even on on The Matrix, is the hacking/computer work realistic?
I know that the real life version of living out a backpack is a lot lamer than it shows on the movies – and life as a traveler is waaaaaayyyyy less romantic than on movies and shows. Do you know what the hacking/computer work is actually like compared to the movies and shows?
