WP Voting 1.7

The Lowdown:
Seemed like it might be a nice plugin but I could not locate the proper way of getting it to work simply abandoned it.

Cardoza Worpress Poll 0.8

The LowDown:
Marked way down due to his ego of creating the icon for the menu bar to be his picture.
pretty straightforward in its setup, only places polls on the sidebar in a widget controlled by the pluginsettings. Seems pretty nice for simple polls nothing special here as it looks like it can be gamed since there is no way to lock it down aside from only allowing logged uses to vote. It does give some nice stats on the polls created. It as a couple of options that are not clearly explained but you can customize the widget displaying the poll for colour. All in all ok 1 point down for ego

Stand by for updateDiablo 3 Tooltip 1.0

The Lowdown:
Ok in honor of the impending launch of Diablo 3 I had to try this out and especially it is so brand new I was #7 to download it I just had to.
It is simple enough all you do is activate it and then wrap the proper text from the Diablo website such as [d3]Apprentice Light Crossbow[/d3] for the Demon Hunter then it will pop up the necessary info about that item in your site as a popup window it pretty nice except it is supposed to place a quick entry button in the editor but did not on my test site. So in honor of the fiery rains from hell stopping and starting your campaign in Diablo 3 give this one a try.

The plugin will populate your site with dummy, titles, contents, and even featured images. It can create posts, pages, or custom post types. It can also create terms for any registered taxonomies you might have.

There are a few different options to play around with.

With this plugin you can filter post or page content by the country (web api) of the user surfing the site, all of that using simple shortcode.

To show content by country just use the shortcode like this:

[cbl country=”country code”]
your content

Hey John and Marcus! Thanks for taking your time to help with the slider. I’ve looked through and tested a bunch of them and pretty much figured as much about the available plugins. I checked out the Bootstrap Carousel and it is close, but not quite what I’m in need of. Thanks for the suggestion though, it is nice. I think I may need to have a custom one made-up. There’s some that were close that may be able to fork the code and finish it off.

Also, I was looking for a Responsive Slider as well for another project that’s going to be fully responsive and I found one that works really well. I’m not sure how well the Bootstrap Carousel will plugin to WP to give the client the ability to update the slides, so if that one doesn’t work out for you, you might check-out “Meteor Slides” https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/meteor-slides/screenshots/ I found it to be quite nice.

Thanks again! As always, love the show, it’s one of my favorite Podcasts. I’ve started using several of the plugins you guys have suggested and you guys never steer me wrong.

      Hi Thomas,

Thanks for the good words and I am glad some of what we have suggested has helped out.

As for the slider since I have had a couple more days to play with it bootstrap is pretty great but it is not easily update-able by the user, at least not until someone turns it into a proper plugin as it has to be manually coded into the theme at this point. What I am using it for that is perfect though.

Meteor Slide looks good aside from it looking like the slides are fixed in size although that may be changeable I would have to hack into it to be sure but I will add it to my list to look at for future projects.
