Benefits – Benefits – Benefits
Having a review done by us or having an interview helps the traffic to the developers website, as was bought to our attention recently when we did an interview and reviewed a plugin for a developer who sent us snap shots of their traffic before and after the shows. The traffic stayed, so there are great benefits to being reviewed by WP Plugins A to Z. Submit Your Plugin Here.

With great appreciation for the No Agenda Show for their inspiration of ideas and the occasional stolen sound clip.
This is a value for value show and I look forward to everyone providing some value back.
Before I get started, you will want to hang around to the end of the show for our Q & A segment with Amber…. and to those listening on the podcast, you may want to check out the YouTube version which has some great discussions before the show starts…

This is #21 of 52 episodes for 2021. Its Episode 513, and things are looking pretty cool in the tech world! I mean, a flying car?!? Well, apparently it glides, for a bit. But still! I think that’s super cool. You’ll find the link in the extra news section.
I hope everyone out there is able to get out and breathe some fresh air! The weather around here has been a wee bit gloomy this last week, but the sun bravely popped out for a couple of days there! Living on an island, I think it is always a good idea to take in the sunshine as much as possible whenever you can. Just be sure to bring along a coat; while bringing along that coat, why not bring a book, or some music? Find a place in the great outdoors somewhere to sit back and chill, catch up on a podcast or even just look up and see if you can catch one of those pyramid shaped UFO’s that are taking the Internet by storm!
Just remember to stay away from the media for a little while at least once a day.
Rinse and repeat as often as needed.
We have some news from the world of WordPress for you today as well as some great plugins.
News this week:
WordPress is old enough to vote now, maybe they can fix the next US election.
WordPress is 18 my oldest boy is only 4 years behind.
Multiple companies are auto blocking FLoC – Joomla, Druple, Duck duck Go – lots of places are adding an auto block for FLoC; I am a little surprised that Google hasn’t caught onto this trend and fixed the problem as of yet. I foresee issues down the road for them.
This is the extra news stuff that someone out there might find interesting. To read more, you can head on over to the show notes or newsletter and check it out! If you find something to add for next show, send me a link at email@example.com
Just a quick funny: Once you read this awesome tweet you will never be able to unsee the ducks. lol

Off we go into the meat and potatoes, Into the depths of plugin depravity…..
ClassicPress is a fast growing fork of WordPress that is starting to come into its own. ClassicPress is focused on Business Websites, runs fast and is looking pretty good. There are a few plugins specifically for ClassicPress and all plugins for WordPress 4.9.9 work well on it. I do believe it has a future.
One thing I am looking forward to in the ClassicPress World is the expansion of the number of ClassicPress specific plugins and their own repository. Currently there are not a lot of ClassicPress specific plugins but I do know it is going to grow and I’ll have to expand this segment then. Who knows, it could take over the whole show.
This week for ClassicPress I have:
Codepotent leaving the ClassicPress system
ClassicPress directory update
Just a note for my ClassicPress listeners please send me info to help keep the ClassicPress section full.

“Must Have” Plugins List
To find a listing of ClassicPress specific plugins check out this link https://forums.classicpress.net/t/plugins-built-specifically-for-classicpress/1011?u=codepotent there is currently 37 42 49 50 52 55 57 58 plugins here and growing. I look forward to the day they have their own repository. I can still recall WP when it had a small repository.

Limit Login Attempts
This is a great plugin that has lots of options for smacking the spammers away from your site.
You can set it to block IPs after a set number of login attempts. It has a WAF that can also help with security. It will auto set the captcha once you get your keys, anyway, into all necessary forms.
All in all and pretty good freemium plugin

Embed Block for GitHub
This seems like a really useful plugin for Gutenberg. Once you plug it in and activate it, it creates a GitHub Repository Embed Block to the Gutenberg Block Editor.
Looks pretty awesome, from what I can tell it works really well – I am not overly familiar yet with Gutenberg, and I don’t have a GitHub account or anything, so I wasn’t able to really test this out. From the reviews and all of the research I did though, it seems to work really well, and has some great points about being easy and simple and fast to set up.
If there is anyone out there who uses Gutenberg who would be interested in trying this out, please do and let me know!
I will be covering this again soon with better detail for everyone about how well it works.
Until then, I am going to give this a middle of the road rating, as I can’t really say whether it’s awesome or great – but I like the idea and wanted to give anyone listening, the knowledge of this plugins existence. I know from personal experience that GitHub can be VERY useful for finding information needed about many things.

Allow Multiple Accounts
There are times when you are creating a membership site and you need to allow multiple accounts with the same email address. That is what this plugins does; yes it is older but still works. You do have to manually download this one because of its age as it will not show up in the plugin install area.

No Update Nag
Another awesome plugin for removing the update nag’s!
Once you download this and activate it, it just simply stops the nagging update notices that appear at the top of all the admin pages!
You will still get a note about whether or not your site is up to date or out of date, but down at the bottom of the page, and in the update count link in the admin bar. So it doesn’t make it impossible to know where you’re site sits,it just get’s rid of the flashy blinky thing at the top.
Very awesome! Easy to use, simply plug it in and let it go!

Sales Tax Reports For WooCommerce
One of the joys of having an e-commerce store is making money. The drawback is that often you have to be a TAX collector the the government and then you have to report that info. This plugin will make that drudgery an bit less of a hassle.
It gives you the multiple reports you will need, to report and pay those pesky taxes.

What is a directory tree? You mentioned that on a recent show when we were talking about mapping out domains I think.
What is Internet Control Message Protocol? (ICMP) I read about it briefly, but all it said was that it is a lack of error control, or lack of assistance mechanism.
What would you say is are the top-most important 3 things a developer should do/know/practice to keep things running as smoothly as possible?
