Plugins: 106 patched, 127 left to go!
Themes: 14 patched, 35 left to go!

WordPress 7.0 planning continues with call for release squad volunteers
(https://www.therepository.email/wordpress-7-0-planning-kicks-off-with-a-big-list-including-real-time-collaboration-and-an-admin-refresh) – With WordPress 7.0 already in alpha, the project is now taking the next practical step: assembling a team that will be responsible for shipping it. This article goes into what we can expect, and what is being worked towards for release in April. So far we are still on track for April 9th release!
WordPress to drop PHP 7.2 and 7.3 support with WordPress 7.0
(https://www.therepository.email/wordpress-to-drop-php-7-2-and-7-3-support-with-wordpress-7-0) – WordPress will drop support for PHP 7.2 and 7.3 with release of WordPress 7.0 – this is still on target for the April 9th release.
What this means for people is that if you have not brought your site up to at least PHP 8.0, you need to do so ASAP. I would recommend giving this article a read.
WordPress Plugins Team reviewed record 12,713 plugins in 2025 as submissions doubled
(https://www.therepository.email/wordpress-plugins-team-reviewed-record-12713-plugins-in-2025-as-submissions-doubled)– This is fantastic! What I see here is that people are getting excited about creating again! I know that we certainly got our interest in this world rekindled this past year, so I can see how the rest of the world did too! This article talks about the plugins covered, the ind of scrutiny that has come about and other things. Worth a read!
Misunderstandings over AI use fuel confusion around WordPress.org plugin reviews
(https://www.therepository.email/misunderstandings-over-ai-use-fuel-confusion-around-wordpress-org-plugin-reviews) – This is a thing to be aware of. There is a lot of wrong info floating around, and even more misunderstandings regarding AI going on. In this article the way that the WordPress Plugins Team is using AI is gone over, addressing some misunderstandings and talking about the frustrations Plugin Developers are facing with the long waits.
The simple habit that saves my evenings
(https://alikhil.dev/posts/the-simple-habit-that-saves-my-evenings/) – This is less a news article and more a fantastic advice article about taking the time in the evenings to write down your ideas and thoughts rather than trying to continue the work cycle. This keeps you from over working and burning yourself out, while also keeping your ideas and thoughts fresh to your mind by writing them down and reading them the next day – the writer also points out that while you are sleeping, even more and possibly better versions of the ideas may come to you. Win/win!

WordPress Tips
We would love to hear some tid bit tips from some of our producers out there – what did you figure out by breaking something? Or what did you need to learn in order to help someone? You can send these tid bits into me at amber@wppro.ca
My tip to you today…
If you find yourself getting angry enough that you are seriously considering chucking your thermos through your main screen on your computer – go read a book, take a walk, have a drink – do whatever you need to do to feel calm again.
Because even though you know you would never ACTUALLY do that (if only because you seriously can’t afford to), that anger is not going to be productive for brain work.
Anger is fantastic for physical labour – so maybe go dig a hole to plant a tree in later or something – but it does no good for brain work like being on a computer.
My tip to you today is to let yourself bugger off when you’re angry, and don’t allow yourself to come back until you are calm again. If you have to, place yourself on time out and treat yourself like an irate toddler – whatever works!
But you will not be getting anything done until you are calm again.

Usercentrics Privacy Policy Generator
https://usercentrics.com/privacy-policy-generator/
The Lowdown:
This was sent into us by an Ina Rudziankova with Usercentrics!
When I uploaded and activated this plugin, I found myself redirected right to their dashboard with a fantastic ‘welcome’ note, and an offer of creating an account, and also the option to watch a short video explaining exactly how this works.
When you click on the ‘generate policy’, it takes you to the Usercentrics site, where you login. I chose to login with my Google account. I like that they make it so easy to login! Although you do have the option to specifically make an account with them all new as well if you desire.
The questions are easy enough, and the ones that are a little confusing, they have a helpful little information area so that you can hover and get a better explanation of what they are asking.
The form was easy enough to fill out, and once done I was able to get the policy ID, paste it into the site, and that is all there is to it!
One of the things I SUPER appreciate as well, is that you can easily delete the policies you have created, and you can create more than one as well. They make themselves very useful, and super easy to use!
This plugin makes it super easy to use on any site, easy to set up, and it is definitely worth looking into as it is totally free!
Unfortunately while I was looking them up, it appears that they have been removed from wordpress.com/plugins. While you can find them if you search up the plugin name specifically, once you click on the link there is nothing and you get a message telling you that the plugin cannot be found.
Luckily we got their website! So if you are interested in grabbing this up, you can head on over to https://usercentrics.com/privacy-policy-generator/ grab the free plugin to use on your site!

Q & A Time with Amber – Catch this info on our YouTube Channel
If you have questions you would like to have asked on the show, send them in to me atAmber@WPPro.ca – we may never stump my dad, but we can get some good conversation out of him at least!
- How come your own personal written user policy is not really workable in todays world?
- Is it more or less helpful to have a variety of privacy polices and stuff? Example: having 3 different companies providing you with a privacy policy – would that make you more compliant or just confuse the issue?
Questions asked after closing credits:
- If you do not have anything really on your site, except your own blog and images, do you still need a privacy policy? Why or why not?
- What would you recommend to people who know they need something, but really want as little as possible regarding privacy policies and stuff?
