How to Choose (and Crop) a Mobile-Friendly Hero Image
Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you know your website has to be mobile-friendly to avoid search penalties. Google laid down the law about this in 2015. Even if you confuse “responsive design” with the current trend for single-column websites with long scrolling home pages and full-width hero images, you’re aware that your website has to work on phones and tablets.
What you may not know is how mobile-friendliness constrains your design choices. One of the reasons that single-column layouts are so popular is that you don’t have to worry about how to stack the columns on smaller screens and how there’s a good chance no one on a phone will see your ads or calls to action if you put them in the sidebar. There are other solutions to the problem of organizing content for multiple screen sizes, but a single-column layout is a good option if you want the visitor to focus on one thing at a time. In 2015, Google Search Console already started to warn webmasters actively not to block CSS and JS files. In 2014, we told you the same thing: don’t block CSS and JS files. We feel the need to repeat this message now. We’re currently working on the websites of our first Yoast SEO Care customers, and this is obviously something we’ll look into for them as well. In this post, we’ll explain why you shouldn’t block these specific files from Googlebot.
You shouldn’t block CSS and JS files because that way, you’re preventing Google to check if your website works properly. If you block CSS and JS files in yourrobots.txt file, Google can’t render your website like intended. Great Way to Learn About Plugins The best! I’ve been a faithful listener for several years. This podcast tells me about plugins but it also explains why a plugin is great or not so great.
With the implementation of shipping zones by WooCommerce and since not all countries use Zip/Postal codes you may need to create custom states for shipping as well as you might want to split some sites and ares into specific zones/regions. This plugin will allow you to create these separations to improve your shipping. The free version has limits on how many you can create but the premium is unlimited and is only $6
Something I was recently made aware of and seems to be an ongoing issue for many websites and I can see as a problem that will start to occur again and again as time goes on. This problem is with old slugs and is more problematic in older sites as well as sites running ecommerce with lots of products and lots of changes happening and using posts/products with similar names.
the problem is that when people hit one page/product expecting one thing they are redirected to another page. This looks to be caused by the old post slug built into WordPress with redirects a query to what it things is the correct place. This is caused by the old slugs.
This plugin help you remove those old slugs without having to go into the data base.
This is a 3rd party service which allows you to setup custom design products on your website such as t-shirts, cups, phone cases, puzzles and more. This is am impressive system and looks like if your in the business of providing final created products for your clients and want to use WooCommerce this is a plugin for you.
What you get is a ready to print composite image created by their web to print technology. This is a pretty impressive plugin check it out.
Woo Product Remover allows you to, via a single click, remove all woocommerce products from your site. It cleans up your database from products, their metadata, relationships, as well as product variations and their related meta data.
WP Remote Site Search is a search plugin for WordPress that returns any WordPress site’s data using WP REST API. Activate the WP Remote Site Search plugin Add the shortcode to a page. post or widget area.
This plugin is a WordPress core feature-plugin that adds cropping to background images for parity with header images. For this particular feature the implementation is quite simple, but it’s starting out as a plugin to gauge user interest in this feature and whether the feature improves the user experience of background images
